There’s never a good time

Most of the time, we talk ourselves out of things. The more we think things over, the more “problematic” our ideas become. It’s that, or we go in the exact opposite direction and just jump into something. Usually, with most things in life, the timing never feels right. Whatever the dream, endeavor or event happens to be.

Think about it. I want to start my own business, but now is just not the right time. I want to go back to school, but I can’t do it at this moment. I want to travel Europe for 3 months, but that idea is just too crazy and non-practical. And then we get discouraged. And the ideas fade. And we don’t do the things we want to.

Look at all the landmark events that happen in your life. Getting married. Having kids. Buying your first home. Did you ever feel that you did them all at precisely the right time? Did all of the stars magically align for you during those moments? I doubt it.

No, it just happened, and things worked out. You made it. You survived, and your life kept going.

The point of this whole blog is this:

There will never be a “right” time to do what you want to do. The right time is now. Today. I say do it before you regret it. Put the plans together, 2011 is your year.

I want to encourage you, specifically in the area of starting your own business. I know some of you reading this have ideas in your head. And they have been bouncing around for a long time. And they are good ideas. There will never be a good time, so why not try it now?
